We offer excellence in Fabrication
and Precision Engineering.
We operate out of a 15,000 sq ft facility which handles:
We have the ability to manufacture prototypes, through to batch runs. Ranging in ferrous, non-ferrous and plastic materials to a maximum weight of 26 tonne.
EN 1090-1 (commonly referred to as CE Marking) became a legal requirement in July 2014, Stead & Wilkins were one of the first manufacturers in the South East to gain the accreditation and are fully compliant with the controls and procedures required under this Standard.
Stead & Wilkins can accept CAD Data in various formats, which in turn can be processed and fed via our DNC links to the machine tools. Stead & Wilkins operate a full Procurement Management Service whereby all subcontracted operations are controlled and subject to goods inwards inspection.
S&W have brought laser cutting in-house with the investment of a 4kW Fibre Laser.
With this machine, the benefits we can offer to our customers is a superior, quicker turnaround and- in some circumstances- a same day service.
With the ability to cut a variety of materials ranging from 0.5mm to 25mm thick, with a tolerance of up to +/- 0.25mm, the capability of such a machine offers a cost effective solution to cutting metal.
Our CADCAM software is fully conversant with all 2D & 3D software packages.
S&W capabilities include CAD CAM, 4-axis CNC milling which incorporates an on-board component & tooling probing, CNC turning, conventional turning, milling and grinding. Materials machined range from plastics, aluminium alloy, alloy steels, brass, copper and stainless steel.
We are able to offer an efficient solution and to
work to precision tolerances and tight deadlines. Quality
is paramount and is enforced by our inspection
department.
S&W have supported this sector since 1974. The inside knowledge we have gained over the decades puts us in a different league compared to other companies. It is through this knowledge that we are able to respond to and support customers' end goals, provide adaptive and progressive feedback on design and manufacture.
