Stead & Wilkins offer a wide range of main and sub contract engineering services from design, sheet metal work, fabrication, welding, CNC punching, mechanical/electro-mechanical assemblies, painting, on site fitters and welders.

Design services
Stead & Wilkins design team are fully qualified engineers with many years of experience. Their abilities cover the traditional draughting and design of constructions as well as the ability to produce full CAD designed assemblies, to the current BS standard. The team are always available to re work a special design should a clients requirement or specification change.

Formal Design Pack
Should it be required our design service includes the ability to produce a pack of drawings detailing the assembly and production items to the current British standards.

Informal Design Pack
This would be purely produced for in-house production although after approval of the design concept, an initial overview would be produced.

Prototyping
This service is available where the need arises to confirm the design principles used.

Our skilled operatives would manufacture the initial prototype controlled by a senior engineer. Generally, prior to full production, our client will approve the working prototype.

Quality Control
All areas of the production process, form design conception to final testing and delivery, are covered by our quality control system. Every individual involved is responsible for maintaining the high level of quality expected by the Stead & Wilkins Management.

Finishing
All finishing processes are provided by our qualified personnel as part of the overall production cycle.

This service is also available as a stand alone facility should clients require a finishing process for their own products that have been manufactured elsewhere.

Delivery
Our transport fleet is always ready to collect and deliver products on time. Unusually, Stead & Wilkins take the view that delivery is an integral part of the entire process.

Stead & Wilkins Limited has current quality approvals to BS EN ISO 9001:2008, Registration No. FM33624.

Licence scope
Our operating licence covers the design, manufacture, supply and installation of general engineering, quality medium/heavy metal fabrications, machining and mechanical assembly.
